Brief: This project is about researching and understanding users. You will work through the COLLECT and COMPREHEND elements of the 5C design model.In this project, you will research the people involved in a particular aspect of everyday life – the user group.

Since last year, my grandmother’s community began to implement the transform. Considering that the proportion of the elderly in the community seems very high and the proposal of the residents, the research activity of installing the elevator has been formally carried out.
In this survey, I am going to focus on building that my grandma lives, and collect information and data, to get their most real thoughts about the installation of elevators through statistics and analysis.
The purpose of the research is to understand what residents’s thoughts about lift-installing, what government should consider during the whole process.

Who are you designing solutions for ?
The residents living in Building NO.24 / The neighborhood committee of West Garden Community
What are their problems ?
They are debating whether to install a lift. I need to know their specific thoughts.

A questionnaire on the lift installing will be designed and distributed to each long-term resident in Building 24, which contains 24 families on six floors , the questionnaire will be investigated :
· residents age and gender(Q1、Q2、Q3)
· physical condition (Inconvenience groups in active)(Q7)
· their opinion with the elevator installation(agree or not)(Q4、Q5)
· acceptable allowance and related problems(Q5、Q6、Q10、Q11)
· other opinions or suggestions.(Q5、Q6、Q8、Q9、Q12)
During the Chinese Spring Festival, considering the problem of outsiders returning plan and COVID-19, the time of questionnaire collection may be flexible. If necessary, I will ask our neighborhood committee for help, they have contact information for all the residents, so they can send the scanned copy of the questionnaire for me.

100 copies of questionnaires were printed and prepared for distribution. 45 paper copies of the questionnaire have been distributed to residents at home.Rest of the questionnaire were sent to outsider residents by WeChat(social app), thank for the helping by neighborhood committee.

Step 3 : What qualities differentiated some from others?(How to group them?)

Group what people are doing and feeling based on customers objectives, I grouped these attributes in what people are doing (yellow), positive feelings (Green) and negative feelings (pink).
Step 5: Create persona
How many persona should I create? Why?
According to my research and experience map, I decide to create 2 personas. There are 3 dense points in negative side and 1 point in positive side in the experience map. Every point represent an concern. Each of them is clustered in the span of three floors (1/2/3F & 4/5/6F), so I believe Two personas are necessary in this project.
