In last week’s tutorial, we showed the work website. It was a very interesting experience. I saw a lot of good web work, which inspired me a lot. After that, I did a self-evaluation of my own website, trying to find out my advantage and disadvantage. At the same time,I have also done relevant research, to helps me think about my site in more perspective.
This site is designed for demonstrate our work during the course, which can be regarded as a personal portfolio. Viewers would get to know me through this website primarily, so I have to show my own style, which might helpful to establish the first impression for them. Besides, for readers, content is the main purpose of their viewing instead of visual effects, which including site features and my works and their needs. A design plan centered on looking-good cannot help people know more about you.
If the content and the visual design is creative, then the available navigation bar must provide a better user experience. Usability and ease of use have always been at the heart of web design. Therefore, navigation design is very important in website construction. This is mainly based on the fact that the vast majority of users (about 50-90%) do not browse the pages of the site to see the sections and content of the page. If the user visits the website from the web page, if there is no detailed navigation guide, then the user is easy to get lost in the website. So in my site, I post my first work,the map, as the backboard. It is an illustration I designed with a great visual effect, so my navigation is very simple and clear. Readers can see every article I posted directly.

Font’s size and kind is another keyword might affect reader’s experience. Through tutorial and browsing sites of other designers, I found that although the font I tried was of the same style, it looked too monotonous and lacked vitality, which was something I needed to modify.
